Fresh Peach Lemonade Drink (Printer-friendly)

Refreshing blend of ripe peaches and lemons creates a cooling summer beverage perfect for hot days.

# What You’ll Need:

→ Fruit Mixture

01 - 3 large ripe peaches, peeled, pitted and sliced
02 - 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 5 to 6 lemons)
03 - 1/2 cup granulated sugar, adjusted to taste

→ Liquid Base

04 - 4 cups cold water
05 - Ice cubes, for serving

→ Garnishes (Optional)

06 - Fresh peach slices
07 - Lemon slices
08 - Fresh mint leaves

# How-To Guide:

01 - Combine the sliced peaches, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and granulated sugar in a blender. Blend on high until completely smooth and no chunks remain.
02 - Pour the blended peach-lemon mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a large pitcher. Press firmly with the back of a spoon to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the retained solids.
03 - Pour the cold water into the pitcher and stir thoroughly until the peach-lemon base is fully incorporated.
04 - Taste the lemonade and add more sugar if a sweeter finish is desired. Stir until dissolved. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
05 - Fill individual glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled peach lemonade over the top. Garnish each glass with fresh peach slices, lemon rounds, and mint leaves as desired.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • The peach flavor is real and bright, nothing like anything you will find in a bottle.
  • It comes together faster than running to the store for a drink mix.
02 -
  • Skip the straining step and you will end up with a grainy, pulpy drink that feels more like a smoothie than lemonade.
  • Underripe peaches will taste flat and slightly bitter no matter how much sugar you add so wait for fruit that gives slightly when you press it.
03 -
  • Blend the peaches alone first and taste the puree before adding sugar since naturally sweet fruit may need barely any added sweetness.
  • Chill your glasses in the freezer for ten minutes before pouring to keep the lemonade ice cold longer on really hot days.
